COE Qualifications

While 2020 has been a challenging year for a number of reasons, we are thankful the market continues to be strong in our area. As many of you are preparing for what we all hope is a productive 4th quarter, it's time to start thinking about celebrating your success in 2020 with the Circle of Excellence program.

For this year, the Board has not made any changes to the rules so the same qualifications for individuals and teams will apply. As a reminder, there were some major changes to the Teams and Team Members that were implemented this past year, so we are providing some of the qualifying information below. If you are on a Team, please make sure to review and let us know if you have any questions.

Team Qualifications:

The Top Producing Team will be determined based on the overall Team Average that is determined by the number of participants on the Team during the qualifying year. This past year, Teams were recognized based on their Team Average Volume and Team Average Units, and that will continue again, but this year we will also include the Total Sales Volume and Total Units to the announcement and promotion.

Teams are required to have a minimum of $2 million in production for each member of the team that will be applying for the Circle of Excellence. For example: • A team of 5 with only 2 members that will be applying for COE credit will need at least $4 million in production to qualify for Circle of Excellence • A team of 3 with all 3 applying for COE credit will need at least $6 million in production in order to qualify.

So, how are team averages determined? We will first need to determine the Total Team Member Calculation and this will be based on the amount of time each person has spent on the team. Example - 3 team members participating for a full year equals a calculation of 3. If one of those members left the team in the middle of the year, then the calculation would change to 2.5 (i.e. the 2 full members and the one that was with the team for 6 months).

Team Members will be prorated monthly and the calculation is based on the month they joined or left the team. For larger teams it will be easier to multiple the number of months each person participated on the team, add that all together, and then divide by 12.

Once we have determined that calculation, we will use that number to divide into the total units and total volume to determine the averages. Here is an example below:

Example - Team ABC has 5 members. 1 person joined in April 2019 and one left in June 2019, and the other 3 participated for the entire year. Their Total Team Calculation would be 3*12 = 36 plus the person that joined in April and spent 9 months on the team (1*9 = 9) plus the one person that spent 6 months on the team and left in June (1*6 = 6). The total of that would be 36 + 9 + 6 = 51 months. Divide 51 months by 12 and the Team Member Calculation is 4.25.

If the team submitted total production of $25 million with 50 transactions, then the averages would be 25 / 4.25 = $5,882,352.94 and 50 / 4.25 = 11.8 transactions.
