400 North REALTORS® Membership Types

The 400 North REALTORS® has 2 annual memberships:

REALTOR®

REALTOR® is a federally registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. Any individual that desires to be a REALTOR® member of the 400 North REALTORS® will need to hold an active real estate or appraiser's license. All primary REALTORS® will automatically hold membership with the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR) and the National Association of REALTORS®.

The annual renewal rate of $475 includes membership in all 3 organizations.

Designated REALTOR®

A Designated REALTOR® (DR) is defined as an individual that qualifies for REALTOR® membership and is a Principal, Partner, Corporate Officer, or Branch Manager of a Real Estate firm. There is only one Designated REALTOR® per company, and he/she is responsible for paying the membership fees for all licensed agents within the organization.

Note for DRs: Fees must also be paid per licensed agent within the company. Paying fees on agents within an office does not automatically qualify them for membership; each agent must complete an application and fulfill all necessary requirements.

Affiliate Partner

400 North REALTORS® Partners help support our members and our community!
An Affiliate is an individual who does not hold an active real estate license, but has interests in the real estate profession. Four sponsorship levels provide Partners recognition and exposure throughout the year. Each Partner level also includes Affiliate membership! Affiliates also hold membership with the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR).

Affiliate Partnership options start at $400 annually and include membership in both organizations. Please visit our Partner Levels & Benefits page for more details.

Affiliate Member (excludes Partnership)

An Affiliate is an individual who does not hold an active real estate license, but has interests in the real estate profession. Affiliate membership is granted to the first person that joins from a company, therefore designating them as the main representative for this company. Affiliates also hold membership with the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR).

The annual renewal rate of $380 includes membership in both organizations. Affiliate Members receive invitations to all 400 North REALTORS® programs. Sponsorship benefits and recognition are exclusively reserved for Affiliate Partners.

Join Today!

You will need to pay the prorated amount of your membership fees and an application fee to join the Association. Depending on what time of year you join, you may need to pay more or less than the annual membership rate. This is because the 400 North REALTORS®', GAR's, and NAR's fiscal cycles are based on a calendar year, January 1 - December 31.

Additional Information

Non-member Licensee

Non-member licensees are unable to reap any Association benefits nor are able to use the REALTOR® marks in conjunction with their business. Per the dues membership requirements, the Designated REALTOR® is responsible for paying dues for all licensed agents within the organization including non-member licensees. If someone is under a non-member licensee status, this could be for a couple of reasons:

  • They never submitted a membership application nor paid the application fee so they are under a non-member licensee status. The Association simply received a payment for their annual dues. They must simply submit a membership application and application fee to become an active REALTOR® member reaping full Association benefits.
  • They did not complete their new member training requirements within the required time frame. They must reapply and repay the application fee only in order to rejoin. They will then be given another 4 months to complete the necessary training.
  • They did not complete the triennial Code of Ethics training requirement within the required time frame. Once they have submitted proof of completion to membership@400northrealtors.com, they will be reinstated to a fully active REALTOR® status.

REALTOR Emeritus®

A REALTOR® Emeritus is any person who has held membership in the National Association of REALTORS® as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, or a combination thereof, for a cumulative period of 40 years. The REALTOR® Emeritus will also have served on a national committee for at least one year to achieve this status. Upon approval by the Board of Directors of the National Association of REALTORS®, no further payment of dues is necessary to the local, state or national Associations. In addition to a dues waiver, REALTOR® Emeritus members are also no longer required to complete NAR's Triennial Code of Ethics Training.

The dues waiver does not take effect until the following 'dues season'. For example, members approved as Emeritus at the NAR Mid-Year or Annual meetings in 2024 would have their dues waived starting in 2025. Upon approval, each REALTOR® Emeritus member will receive a congratulatory letter, certificate, and 40-year REALTOR® Emeritus lapel pin.

If you believe you qualified to be a REALTOR® Emeritus as defined above, please download and submit REALTOR® Emeritus application, found in the "Applications" section of this page.

For more information about the NAR's Committee process, please click here or check out NAR's FAQs Page related to Committee Service.

*All Emeritus Applications must be submitted by March 15th & September 15th of each year.

All Emeritus Applications will be reviewed by the National Association of REALTORS® at the mid-year meeting or the Annual Conference. Click here to review NAR's REALTOR® Emeritus Award Process FAQs.
